Французская симфо-павер металлическая группа Kerion была основана в 2002 году. Основателем группы считается Rémi. В составе оказались вокалистка Flora, гитарист Sylvain, басист Stef и барабанщик Sam. Собственно, они были знакомы ещё раньше – в молодости они играли в инструментальной прог–метал группе с названием Kirlian. Из этого названия и было получено новое имя.
В 2003 - 2005 годах Kerion выпустили две демозаписи, базирующиеся по текстам на героическом фэнтези Криса Барберри (Chris Barberi): «Conspiracy of Darkness» и «The Last Sunset». После успеха второго демо, группа Kerion приступила к записи дебютного альбома «Holy Creatures Quest», базирующегося на третьем томе трилогии Барберри.
