Французская группа Fairyland, в прошлом известная как Fantasia (под этим названием они даже выпустили диск ‘Realm Of Wonders’), а позже Fantasy, была создана в 1998 году клавишником Philippe Giordana и басистом/барабанщиком Willdric Lievin. Оба они страстно любили такой стиль, как симфо-пауэр метал. Появилось первое демо ‘Tribute To Universe’, затем ещё одно - ‘Realm Of Wonders’. Их необыкновенные «фантастические» работы, изобилующие симфоническими аранжировками, привлекли к группе внимание других музыкантов имеющих сходные творческие пристрастия - так в группе появился гитарист Anthony Parker (из весьма известной группы Heavenly). Затем в феврале 2002 года они в Wizard Studio приступили к записям дебютного альбома. К группе присоеденилась вокалистка Elisa C. Martin (из не менее известной испанской группы Dark Moor). Музыканты заключили контракт с издающим французским лейблом N.T.S. (ныне Replica Records).
Диск ‘Of Wars In Oshyria’ был издан в апреле 2003 года, и получил неплохую рекламную поддержку и от лейбла, и от менеджмента. Группа получила прекрасные отзывы на свой альбом и поехала в турне по Франции с Sonata Arctica.
